New training facility to challenge professionals to make a bigger impact by saying less

There’s a new business in town and it’s all about brevity.

Sheffield, a boutique marketing agency headquartered in Chicago, today announced the launch of a new business unit, The BRIEF Lab, in Southern Pines, NC. The new 2,000-square foot facility will provide professional development and training workshops on how to master the art of getting to the point.

“When growing your career or business, there’s no time for wasted words,” said Joseph McCormack, managing director and founder. “The BRIEF lab will give professionals and military leaders a real edge to get their ideas across clearly and concisely.”

McCormack, author of the upcoming book, Brief: Make a Bigger Impact by Saying Less (John Wiley & Sons), currently provides workshops for clients like BMO Harris Bank, USG Corporation, Jones Lang LaSalle, W.W. Grainger and U.S. Special Operations Command.

“We’re excited about opening our first facility in Southern Pines,” says McCormack. “Our relationship with Ft. Bragg over the past few years has grown strong enough that it was time to open a dedicated office in North Carolina.”

The BRIEF Lab will offer a variety of one- and two-day public and private workshops, and seminars for professionals and small teams. The initial courses, Intro to BRIEF and BRIEFings, will provide a series of challenging practical exercise to help participants gain the awareness and discipline to master brevity in professional settings.

Participants will be able to achieve levels of certification in lean communication with these initial courses as well as others like BRIEF Management and BRIEF Media.
