Brigadier General (ret.) Rich Gross
is a master in brevity and passionate about helping senior leaders communicate more clearly and concisely. I met him several years ago, and was very happy when he agreed to talk with me for Brief: Make a Bigger Impact By Saying Less. I knew he’d faced wasted time through long and ineffective meetings, poorly written emails, and boring, incomprehensible presentations and I wanted to hear more. I wanted to learn how he helped the government shift from that kind of wasted time to brevity.

Through those conversations, I was able to glean some important lessons, such as how to create brief presentations and the discipline of brevity in some of the world’s highest leadership circles.

His lessons have proven to be extremely valuable to our clients and to my own leadership team.

That is why I am incredibly humbled and excited to have Gen. Gross, now U.S. Army retired, join the strategic advisory board for Sheffield Company, but—more importantly—serve as senior counsel for The Brief Lab.

What this means to you is, through online coursework and in-person workshops, you will learn how to command respect, communicate like an expert, and help create a noticeable shift within your organization.

“A senior government leader’s most valuable commodity is time. Given the pace and complexity of today’s national security issues, combined with the onslaught of constant information, The Brief Lab program could be a critical force-multiplier in today’s environment. I’m excited about joining their team, because I know what this program can do for our senior leaders.” — Gen. Gross
